Better still come along and find out at first hand!
Our regular club meetings take place on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays monthly - except August - from 7:30pm to 9:30pm at
the Titchfield Community Centre, Mill Street, Titchfield PO41 4AB. Our agenda includes prepared speeches, impromptu
speeches, a social break and evaluations (feedback) on each person's performance. Guest are always welcome. You're
welcome to call us before your visit - or just turn up.
Twice a year we run contests: in Spring, the International Speech Contest and the Evaluation Contest; in Autumn
the Humorous Speech and Table Topics (Impromptu speech). Contests speeches have to comply with strict time limits
and are judged according to set criteria.
This gives members the opportunity to practice giving polished contest performances. The winner of each contest goes
on to compete at the next level - Area finals. Contests at following levels include Regional and UK & Ireland finals.
The winner of the International Speech Contest at UK & Ireland level qualifies for the World Speaking Champion final in August.
